JOY 2009

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the JOY set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:1-3

1 Peter 1:6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful JOY ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while.

Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for JOY and I will give thanks to him in song.

Mitchell Familly 2008

It has been a year where we stayed close to home and enjoyed the beautiful weather. 2009 may be quite different than 2008. Happy New Year to all those who read this! You are important to our world and I hope you will always feel that.

Thomas J

Thomas has had many highlights in 2008. He has been working in the insurance world, dating a gal that puts a smile on his face and being devoted to staying fit.

Beau J

Beau and Tanya enjoy a frolick in the snow on Christmas Eve.

Beau spent much of this year in a landscaping business, using his creative juices.

The new year has some exciting potential in a career that he will hopefully share soon.

The Savoies here for Christmas

Bob's Daughter Jenna and her family, Chris, Laura and Madison, joined us for Christmas 08. They live in Kelowna, B.C.

June 2007 update

This house is full again and we are blessed.
Thomas is home after another semester at TWU and Beau is home from the oil fields in Grande Prairie.

Monday, January 01, 2007

Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for all your e-cards and Christmas cards. We have enjoyed hearing from you!
Here is my big effort at sharing with you our lives in 2006. It is not in the order it maybe should be but I'm guessing you will get the story.
We so appreciate your friendship!
May God bless you richly in 2007!
Love
Robert, Eunice, Thomas and Beau.
Thomas spent most of 2006 in university. The first half at Trinity Western and the second half at UCFV here in Chilliwack. He plans to continue in 2007 at TWU and major in communications. He tutors Korean students and plans to continue, while paying his way through school.

Beau left for Kelowna in early January 06 and moved back home in September. He has just moved to Grand Prairie in December to work in the oil fields. Quite likes the small town and was fortunate to get a job where he does not work in the "elements". Someday I will be able to explain exactly what he does, but not yet!

We missed him terribly over Christmas as he was unable to come home!

My spring was full with work and preparing for a long-awaited holiday with my cousins Charmaine and Arlene. We left May 11th for Russia and from there to the Ukraine (what used to be southern Russia) and found our Grandparents home (the Poetkers). This was definitely a highlight for my year. You will see above the picture of their home. They came to Canada 80 years ago.

Then in August, I changed how I do life at Menno Travel as I was asked to be Office Manager.

This came with more responsibility but I am enjoying the challenge and a slight change to my job. I will always keep up with my clients as they have become family to me, as has the office staff. I have just completed 10 years with Menno Travel.

Shortly after this, my friend Marianne and I took a trip to Manzanillo for a week, during which, we visited one of my client's orphanages. www.hopeforthenations.com in Colima. It was time I had a first hand experience visiting an orphanage and holding the children.

Bob is working through the details of semi-retirement. As you can see it has been quite difficult. From what I can sense, he now wants for nothing. After a couple of seasons of putting fishing on the back burner (if you can imagine that with Bob!) He'll be back at it this year with all the comforts a fisherman needs (?)

He is still managing www.getpage.com as the artist in him never gives up.

Merry Christmas Blessings
to you and your family!

Happy New Year from the Heart and Voice of the Mitchell Family! As we enter into the year 2007, we anticipate God's blessings on our lives.
As I (Eunice) reflect back on the year, we have seen many changes and events that made for a very full year. Above was just a glance of 2006, to catch you up.
My prayer for 2007:
Psalm 86:17 "I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make HIS faithfulness known to all generations" !
